What to bring
As the arrival time for maternity patients varies, please familiarise yourself with the information on what you should do at the various times throughout the day and night when arriving at the hospital.
For arrival during office hours (every day, 8am – 6:30pm):
- Proceed directly to the Maternity ward via the main entrance and reception area
- If further directions or information is required, enquire at reception
For arrival outside of office hours:
- Between these times, the internal door is locked for security reasons
- Access can be obtained by calling Maternity ward via the intercom located on the wall in the entrance foyer (inside the automatic sliding door)
For planned admissions:
- Please ensure you arrive at the hospital at the time designated by the hospital or your doctor
- On arrival please register at reception
- After registration at reception, you'll be shown to your room
What to bring to Hospital
- Hand held record
- Medicare card
- Cool, loose, comfortable clothing (e.g. old large t-shirt or nightie)
- Warm socks
- Drinks and snacks (ie., mineral water, non-acidic juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, glucose sweets)
- Hair bands and shower cap for long hair
- Bathers, eg., board shorts (especially for Dads or support person)
- Massage oil (e.g. lavender scented oil)
- Camera
- Music
What not to bring
Money/Jewellery/Valuables. We recommend you leave all valuables such as jewellery and large amounts of cash at home as we cannot accept responsibility for lost or stolen property.
